Sport

Pupils in the Lower School are actively involved in the sporting life of the school and have the benefit of lessons taught by highly experienced sports and coaching staff.

We ensure pupils have ample opportunities for physical activity and to benefit from teamwork. To this end:

  • Years 1 & 2 enjoy two PE lessons and one swimming lesson per week.
  • Years 3 & 4 have a more intensive schedule with one PE lesson, one swimming lesson and four dedicated Games lessons per week.

Years 3 and 4 form our Under 9 sports squads, competing in inter-school fixtures across all our major team sports: football, cricket, hockey, rugby (boys) and netball (girls). The PE curriculum also includes swimming, tennis, squash and athletics.

Our extensive Co-Curricular Programme supplements the Lower School sports schedule, taking place before, after and during school hours. Parents sign up at the start of each term for popular options like Running Club, daily swimming training and tennis lessons.

The Banda provides a variety of activities throughout each day which stimulate children academically, physically and socially.
