Upcoming Ski Trip

Last year, The Banda School Seniors’ Ski expedition was at the resort of Passo Tonale, a high mountain pass in northern Italy across the Rhaetian Alps, between Lombardy and Trentino (read about it here: Ski Trip 2014). The pupils still have fresh memories of the mythical 3 km long “black” Paradiso with a vertical drop of 710 metres and the 4,500 metre long picturesque Alpino with a 725 metre vertical drop.

This year, all roads lead to Austria! Solden, a well-known, high altitude resort in Austria, offers snow sure slopes. It has two glaciers, which are open from November until May and exceeds 3000 metres, allowing for good snow conditions. It also has spacious slopes offering a huge diversity of levels to suit all abilities and good progression throughout the week.

Apart from skiing, the area offers spectacular alpine scenery creating a wonderful base for the week. The resort is very well suited to the age of our group with evening activities being close to the hotel.
