The Banda
provides a planned progression of learning in classes of eighteen or
less, ensuring the close monitoring of the progress of each child.
The school is split into ten year groups. Nursery to Year One (1 - 6
years) is located in Pegasus pre-prep, Years Two to Four (6 - 9
years) are in the Junior School and Year Five to Eight (9 - 13
years) make up our Senior School.
The curriculum
followed is designed to provide continuity and progression. The
British National Curriculum provides the core of the academic
programme. The overall academic target is the 13+ Common Entrance
Examinations sat in Year 8.
Particularly able children are prepared for
academic, music, art, design and technology, all rounder and sports
scholarships around the world. The Banda has build up an
excellent record of our Year 8 leavers winning scholarships both in
Kenya and overseas. In the past 10 years, over 60 children
have won awards to schools in the United Kingdom including
Cheltenham College, Cranleigh, Oundle, Stowe, Gordonstoun,
Merchiston Castle, King’s Bruton, Westowbirt and Badminton. |
