"There was a real buzz at The Banda on Tuesday morning as everyone arrived for the first day of term. Happy, smiling faces were everywhere and I am delighted to see all of our new children settling so well. Already we are off to a busy start, with the Year 5 Parents’ Forum and the Year 5 bonding trip to Olepolos taking place this week. Today Twiga House enjoyed their Cockhouse Party."

Week 3 Newsletter

"This week, has been dominated by the Year 8 ascent of Mount Kenya. The pupils had an amazing experience and, without exception, every child should be congratulated for their determination, perseverance and achievement. The weather was cold, but they reached the summit with clear blue skies. I am extremely proud of every one of you who climbed the mountain and thank Mr Ammora, Miss Sweetnam and Miss Harrison, as well as a number of parents, for leading and accompanying this most successful trip. I know it will remain as a treasured memory for you all."

Week 9 Newsletter

"Our athletes have been in action this week at the Braeburn Athletics Meeting which took place at Kasarani Stadium on Tuesday. It was a very well organised event, an exciting experience for the children and The Banda team performed very well indeed. They finished third overall out of 18 teams and this is a marked improvement on previous years. Credit must go to the pupils and staff involved in the training and commitment that has taken place, both during and out of school hours."

Week 11 Newsletter

"This has been a busy week of sport. Last weekend the Under 14 and Under 11 teams both performed exceptionally well at the Hillcrest Rounders Tournament. Both teams reached the finals, having won all of their matches in the group rounds, but sadly narrowly lost to their opponents in the finals. Many congratulations to those who represented The Banda at this event. Yesterday the Under 9 Cricket and Rounders teams competed at the Kenton Under 9 Festival. The cricketers tried their hardest, but unfortunately did not qualify after the initial rounds. The girls’ however, were on flying form and ended up as the eventual overall winners of the Festival. Well done to you all!."

Christmas songs can be heard resonating around the classrooms as pupils practise for their various Christmas concerts, decorations have started appearing around the school, and there is much excitement amongst the staff as they have been recording their Christmas song! We look forward to the first of our concerts next week, with Pegasus Early Years performing on Wednesday morning, and the Lower School on Thursday afternoon. We also hope that many of you will be able to attend the PTA Christmas party which will take place on Tuesday afternoon."

"It has been a festive and fun week, concluding a highly successful term.  I would like to thank the PTA for providing Tuesday evening’s Upper School Disco DJ.  Also Simon Ammora for directing an entertaining staff pantomime.  The highlight of this week, however, was last night’s Upper School Christmas Concert.  There were some outstanding performances and I would like to thank Julius Ngare and Emma Withill for raising the standard of music to new heights."
