Rewards at our Preparatory School | The Banda

Our Preparatory School understands the concept of praise and of giving credit where it is due.

We award our pupils when they excel at any particular aspect within the school activities that they pursue.

Citizenship Badge

Awarded to those pupils who consistently:

  • care about the feelings and rights of others
  • show concern for the safety and well-being of others
  • stay informed about issues and voice their opinion
  • use their skills to make a better community

Bronze, Silver and then Gold can be achieved during the course of the Lower School, and then again during the pupils’ time in the Upper School. May be awarded at any point during the academic year.

Merit Badge - Lower School

Awarded for exceptional hard work and achievement in grades (at the child’s expected level) in all areas of the curriculum

May be awarded at any point during the academic year.

Merit Badge - Upper School

  • Awarded in five different areas – Art, Performing Arts (Music and Drama), Academics and Sport.
  • Pupils can be awarded one in each area during Year 5 and 6, and another during Year 7 and 8
  • Awarded for exceptional hard work and achievement (at the child’s expected level)

May be awarded at any point during the academic year.

Colours

  • Awarded for excellence in: Art, Drama, Music, Academics, Cricket, Rounders, Swimming, Athletics, Hockey, Cross Country, Netball, Rugby, Tennis and Squash
  • Pupils will receive colours only once in each area
  • Awarded to pupils in Year 7 or 8 

May be awarded at any point during the academic year.
