SPORT AT THE BANDA DOVETAILS THE DEVELOPMENT OF EXCELLENCE WITH THE PROVISION OF SPORT FOR ALL WHILST FOSTERING A LOVE OF BEING PHYSICALLY ACTIVE.
It is the aim of The Banda that every encouragement is given to all pupils to develop their skills at every level, to promote the values of good sportsmanship and to make the team sports experience a rewarding and enjoyable one for all. Our approach to sport is inclusive.
We have a strong record of success at all levels whether inter-school or in the IAPS festivals and tournaments. The Under 9A, Under 11A and 1st teams are selected from the most talented pupils across the relevant age groups. The B teams and subsequent teams play to a high level and are often moved to stronger teams.

The Sports Department includes internationally qualified and experienced P.E. teachers and Games coaches including Biko Adema, Olympian and Kenya Rugby Sevens player, Slavica Latinovic responsible for our extensive and acclaimed swimming programme with many pupils having competed internationally.

Golf and Horse-riding are also available throughout the year.
The Banda School is a member of the Independent Association of Preparatory Schools (IAPS). We participate in all the major IAPS sporting tournaments from Under 9 to Under 13, as well as arranging fixtures against the other IAPS schools. This gives all children experience of a match situation. In addition, The Banda host several of the major tournaments throughout the year: the Under 13 XI-a-side Cricket, the Girls' IAPS Squash, the Under 9 Rugby and Netball, the Under 13 & Under 11 IAPS Netball and the Under 13 Girls' Tennis tournament.
An extensive extra curricular programme is available before and after school. Two of our most popular clubs are the Running Club and daily swimming training.
It is intended that the experiences offered through sport and other extra-curricular activities develop the skills and attitudes conducive to involvement in an active and healthy lifestyle.
